It seems Wikileaks has suddenly become 'the' news no matter where you turn. Now the politicians are saying Julian Assange is worse than Osama Bin Laden. Then of course there is the double rape charge in Sweden.
Anyway, apparently there are some secrets exposed around the India-Pakistan situation also. From what I understand, according to some secret diplomatic cables, US was unhappy with the way India responded to Pakistan during the December 2001 attack on the building housing the Parliament of India.
There were over 3,000 cables sent from US Embassy in India to Washington that stated that India was not willing to attack Pakistan even after the Mumbai attacks in 2008 by Pakistani terrorists. According to one cable, India was constantly worried about the fact that Pakistan had nuclear weapons.
The cables sent from US Embassy said that India commenced 'Cold Start', a military doctrine developed by Armed Forces, which involves joint operations between Army, Navy, and Air Force, after 2001 Parliament attack but the Army was not able to execute it properly.
The cables sent by US ambassador to India Timothy Roemor on Feb 16, 2010 said that, "Indian forces could have significant problems consolidating initial gains due to logistical difficulties and slow reinforcement."
OK, I understand that these types of messages are not news when governments deal with each other. What got me was the way the message stated how India was may I say...scared of Pakistan. I have a hard time believing that India is scared of Pakistan. I just think India does not want a war over these issues.
Also, what's up with US not being happy with the fact that India did not go to war with Pakistan.
Feel free to comment your views on the situation.

Most people I know, including myself, prefer to know what goes on internally instead of reading half baked news. What has the government to loose if they haven't said or done anything that is against what they are telling the public ?
I mean, if you are going to act like my friend and then stab me behind my back, I would prefer to know it. Wouldn't you?
All Assange is trying to do is to open up the floor and show everyone the government dealings.0 pointsvj wrote 527 Days Ago (neutral) 0Hackers have joined forces and launched attacks on Mastercard, a Swiss bank and some other firms for declining their relationship with Wikileaks. The hackers believe they are fighting for the same openness that Wikileaks is fighting for. They called it "Operation Payback."0 pointsvj wrote 532 Days Ago (neutral) 0OK, I found some cartoons. Check it out.
