Imagine getting paid for not working.. not for a day or two but for around 10 years! This is just what happened to a lady teacher attached to a school in the Kandy Education Zone in Sri Lanka. Turns out she has obtained a total salary of Rs 2,244,816 for a period of 119 months without teaching a single subject in school an audit report revealed.

Another teacher in the same zone has also tried the same stunt and got away with it for 1 and a half years as well.

Steps are being taken to recover the money from the relevant teachers.
